LS152THa Premium Kit - 152mm Dedicated H-Alpha Solar Telescope

LS152THa Premium Kit — 152mm Dedicated H-Alpha Solar Telescope 152mm of unobstructed aperture. Doppler True Pressure Tuning. Internal double stack included.

The LS152THa Premium Kit is built around the LS152THa: an advanced narrow band hydrogen-alpha dedicated system, refractor-based, with a 152mm front objective, 900mm focal length and f/6 focal ratio. It adds the LFPT internal double stack module (LS152 version) to the same components as the LS152THa Standard Kit.

The 100% unobstructed system will perform to the highest level at both low and high magnifications. Utilizing both advanced high-contrast coatings and the Doppler True Pressure Tuning system, you will be able to experience crisp, sharp, high magnification visual images, as well as use this system for high end digital processes.

An unobstructed internal HD etalon with the pressure tuner allows for a bandpass of <0.45Å, providing slightly higher surface detail without the loss of edge detail. The pressure tuning system provides an order of magnitude more precision to the tuning of the desired features.

What You'll See

True Doppler Tuning allows for a shift into and away from you, adding a 3D-like component to the viewing experience. While it has minimal effect on prominences due to their location at the edge of the disk, it does have an effect on filaments and active regions on the surface.

While looking at a filament at the center of the Sun, you can Doppler shift from the base of the filament to the tip, following the filament through its structure toward you and away from you. This allows for enhanced visual and imaging capability for the observer, as well as a research tool for the avid hobbyist.
