We built the Solar Ready Bundles to answer that question with a single click. Each bundle is a complete, ready-to-observe package: telescope, blocking filter, eyepiece, sun finder, and case — everything matched and tested. No compatibility questions. No missing accessories. We have curated 15 packages across five telescope platforms, organized into three tiers — Standard, Enhanced, and Premium — so you can match your package to your observing goals and budget.

New Pricing Made Possible by Tariff Elimination

For over a year, import tariffs added significant cost to the specialized optical components and raw materials we use to build every Lunt telescope. These were costs we had no choice but to pass along.

With the recent elimination of these tariffs, we made a decision: rather than quietly absorb the savings, we would restructure our entire product packaging and pass the full benefit directly to our customers. The Solar Ready Bundles represent this commitment — the same hand-built, US-tested Lunt quality at price points that reflect our actual manufacturing costs without tariff markup.

The result is that a complete hydrogen-alpha solar telescope system now starts at $895. A year ago, that was not possible.

Why We Built the Solar Ready Bundles

For 25 years, we have sold individual components because that is how experienced astronomers buy — they know exactly which blocking filter pairs with which focuser for their specific imaging setup. That will not change. Every component remains available individually for those who want to build their own configuration.

But we also recognize that the fastest-growing segment of our customer base is people coming to solar astronomy for the first time. Many are drawn by the August 12, 2026 total solar eclipse crossing Europe, or by the extraordinary solar activity of the current cycle. They do not want to research blocking filter sizes and focuser compatibility — they want a telescope that works when they open the box.

The same etalons polished in our Tucson facility. The same Doppler True pressure tuning systems. The same redundant safety architecture reviewed and approved by a senior ophthalmologist.

What has changed is the price of getting started — not the quality of what you receive. We were able to restructure pricing because the external cost pressures that inflated prices have been removed. The instruments themselves are identical to what we have always built.
