Description
The Sky-Watcher SolarQuest solar tracking mount is lightweight and ridiculously easy to use. No need to worry about aligning your equipment the night before or early in the morning.
Using its patented HelioFind solar finder and built-in GPS, SolarQuest autolevels and calculates the azimuth and altitude of the sun, all with the single push of a button.
Once self-aligned, the mount locates and tracks the sun for hours at a time. SolarQuest is perfect for eclipse chasers or anyone fascinated with our closest star.
The SolarQuest contains a standard Vixen Style Dovetail plate and a payload capacity of 11lbs. The mount includes a 12Vdc power adapter, and has added battery powered functionality taking 8 AA batteries.

This is a fantastic machine that makes solar observing outreach so much more simple. I have done many solar observing sessions with my LS50DS and a Orion EQ-1. This worked, but I would have to keep moving things around between every person at the telescope, which slowed down the long line behind the scope.
I also got a PowerTank Lithium LT so I don’t have to worry about charging or disposing of batteries. It is magical to press a button and have my LS80SS (with William Optics binoviewers) tracking the sun endlessly out of the box without requiring any sort of calibration.
