At 230mm F/7 the Lunt Solar LS230T/PT is by far the world’s largest production Solar telescope. Beating out the previous record holder and now slightly smaller brother by 80mm.

With an image size of almost 16mm at the eyepiece, the view thru this instrument are truely breathtaking. Clear skies provide the feeling of seeing into every detail of our nearest (and my favorite) Star.

The LS230T is a limited production dedicated Hydrogen-alpha telescope with a bandpass of less than 0.65 Angstroms. Optical design by the well known Massimo Riccardi provide crisp sharp features, while an unobstructed aperture allow for the highest level of contrast and resolution available in any Solar Telescope.

Lunt announced the availability of the LS230 for pre-order about one year ago. Initial delivery expectations were set at late July. A slight delay in the acceptance of the internal optical system (the initial optics were rejected back for re-work) pushed the estimated delivery to year end. As you know, Lunt never compromise on the quality of our optical system and we think that the end users will be very pleased with the performance of this system.

The initial offering sold out in just 2 days. Upon shipment of all the LS230Ts we have on order we will provide information on how to place your pre-order for the second release of this system scheduled for late 2012. However, at this time Lunt are not accepting additional orders and we do not have a waiting list. Please check back for more information.

The LS230THa/PT (pressure tuned) is a complete and dedicated Hydrogen-alpha
Solar Telescope.

Soon to become the largest aperture Solar Telescope currently available, the
LS230THa/PT will provide the highest level of performance ever produced in a
Solar Scope.

A precision aligned refractor with a fully un-obstructed 230mm Aperture.

The 100% unobstructed system will perform to the highest level at both low
and high magnifications. Utilizing advanced hi-contrast coatings and the new
Doppler True Pressure Tuning system the user will be able to experience an
un-paralleled level of visual and imaging performance.

The system is designed as a dedicated Hydrogen-alpha telescope. Unlike its
smaller LS152THa the system is not modular.
